DIRECTOR
As a stage director, it is my
mission to create a world in which
audiences and stage artists can
commune, collide and commit to
learning more about each other and
themselves. It is my belief that the
stage is one of the last venues that
allows a "community" of people to
come together to consider the past,
look at where we are today and
finally see the possibilities of
tomorrow. I am a director who thinks
and creates "outside" the box of
convention and I am a director who
likes to confront the audience and
catch them "off guard" to engage
their imaginations and the
imaginations of the artists
involved. The possibility of
creation is, after all, theatre at
its best.
As a stage director, Denis has
learned from working with some
amazing mentors such as: Tim Carroll
(Olivier Award Nominated director
2003), Anna Brennen of Stageworks,
Inc. (voted Tampa Bay's Best theatre
several years running),
International Artist Yanci Bukovec,
Britian’s: Corin Redgrave, Matthew
Francis, Keith Baxter, Sian
Phillips, Stephen Wrentmore, Sir
Donald Sinden, Brendon O’Hea,
Sheridan Morley, Howard Barker
Wrestling School’s Jane Bertish and
Melanie Jessop and finally
professors: Mikell Pinkney, David
Young, Ralf Remshardt, Kevin
Marshall, Fanni Green-Lemons, Robin
Gordon and Tony Mata.
